Beta FAQ
As of right now, TCoS is in closed beta testing. They are taking applications for open beta, and still have a few more "rounds" of closed beta to go through. No applications will be accepted within Beta for individuals who have a video card which fails to comply FULLY with dx9.0c with Pixel Shader 2.0.
Q) Where do I sign up for Beta?
A) The direct link is http://www.tcos.com/beta/beta.php. You must be registered on their forums to apply.
Q) My account activation email never arrived or did not work, what can I do?
A) Email forums@tcos.com with your username and be sure to mail from the account you used to register.
Q) My application is filled out, but it says I didn't fill in a field, why is that?
A) Usually this is one of two things: when saving your dxdiag file you must make sure to change the file type in the dropdown to XML, and when filling out the application you must input text giving us your reason for wanting to test.
Q) I don't have a priority or beta key, where do I get one?
A) The key field is for individuals with a beta account prize or priority code provided by Spellborn International Ltd. If you have not received one of these, you always have the opportunity to input one at a later time.
Q) I upgraded my computer after I filed out the dxdiag, is there anything I can do?
A) You can return to the beta application at a later time and re-upload the new dxdiag file.
Q) How do I know my application went through?
A) If you return to the Beta application page, you should see only the option to update your dxdiag.xml file and a space to fill in a key. If you see the full form, it means it was not received.
Q) I wasn't selected for the first round of Beta, is there still a chance of getting in?
A) Yes, there will be many rounds of invites to the Beta. Just because you didn't get picked first, doesn't mean you won't get in.
Q) What stage is TCoS in now?
A) They are conducting their International Closed Beta, having begun this phase of testing at the end of November 2005. |
